Quanah F. James entered this life on Oct. 25, 1934 at Cade, Oklahoma, born to Richard and Mattie James. He passed from this life on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 at his residence in Cade, Okla. at the age of 83.
Mr. James lived his entire life in Cade on the original Choctaw allotment issued to his great-grandfather. He was proud to be a Choctaw. After graduating from Bennington High School, he served his country in the United States Army, spending most of that time in Germany. He was also a life-long member of the NRA. He was employed by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture for many years.
Mr. James was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper. He loved nature and spent many hours teaching his nephews the skills of deer hunting and fishing. He was a true outdoorsman. He also enjoyed raising chickens and bees. He was a man of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by Brothers; Quilby (Elaine) of Cade, Oklahoma, Tom (Charlotte) of Bennington, Okla., Benny of Glenn Heights, Texas. Sisters; Loboma Beth of Bennington; Nocona of Moore, Okla., and Micky (Kenneth) of Cumberland, Okla. Also many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Mr. James is preceded in death by his parents; three infant brothers; Brother, Hiawatha James; Sister-in-law Mary James, and niece Lisa Weekly.

Family hour for Quanah F. James is Wednesday September 19, 2018 from 6-7 p.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, 11 a.m., at The Old Church Cemetery in Bennington, Oklahoma with Brother Charles Williams officiating.
