Margie Wheeler a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, left this earthly life on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at the age of 84. She was born in Platter, Okla. on Sept. 15, 1933 to Veachel and Dixie Lucille (Rutledge) Lyles. Margie was married to Alfred Wheeler in Durant, Okla. on Sept. 24, 1954.
Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her husband Alfred Wheeler of the home, daughter Janice Brock and husband Bill of Waco, Texas, son Al Wheeler and wife Tricia of Greenville, Texas. Grandchildren: Danika Morefield and husband Mark of Waco, Texas, Whitney Uptmore and husband Patrick of Waco, Texas, Ashley McAdoo and husband Spencer of Katy, Texas, Aaron Wheeler of Greenville, Texas, Ashleigh James and husband Chris of Greenville, Texas, Alexa LeBeau of Tyler, Texas, Madison LeBeau of Greenville, Texas. Great-Grandchildren: Camden Brock, Harrison Morefield, Ryan Morefield, Karson Uptmore, Clayton and Kylan Uptmore. Survived by sister Denna Paulson and husband Duane of Grand Junction, Colo.
Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her parents Veachel and Dixie Lyles and sister Gwenodlyn Oliphint.
Family hour will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Durant. A celebration of her life will with begin at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Durant in Durant with Brother Clifford Joines. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant with Phillip Rustin, Cecil Smith, Mark Morfield, Patrick Uptmore, Spencer McAdoo, and Camden Brock serving as pallbearers.
