Kye Alexander

Kye Alexander Mitchell passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 at his home at the age of 11. He was born on Dec. 15, 2006 in Durant, Okla. to Brian Lee Mitchell and Tiffany DeAnne (Muchmore) Mitchell.

A lifelong resident of Durant, Kye was known to family and friends as “Little Red” and “Tucker Jr.”. He attended Big Five Head Start and Robert E. Lee Elementary. He was currently a sixth grade student at Durant Intermediate School, where he was a member of the band. He was an online member of the Rwby Fan Club and Rooster Teeth Group. Kye is described as a massive fan boy, who had a passion for cosplay, online gaming, and attending conventions. He spent his time playing a large variety of different game categories. His favorites were, World of War Craft, Pokemon Go, Pub G, Fortnite, Mind Craft, Halo, Overwatch, Harth Stone, Star Craft, Red vs. Blue, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. If he wasn’t playing games, he could be found reading or playing chess. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his family Wilburn and Barbara Butler, Thelma and George McDaniel, Dorothy and C.A. Muchmore, Larry Martin, Chester Goodson, Vivian Mitchell and Fred Mitchell.

Survivors include his parents, Brian and Tiffany Mitchell of the home; older sisters, Trinity Howell and Kally Mitchell; big brother, Corbin Howell; paternal grandparents, Wilson and Faith Mitchell; maternal grandparents, Rick and Karen Muchmore; grandma, Frances Harper; grandparents, Ava and Alvin Kinsey; great-grandma, Dorothy Martin; aunt, Annie; and great aunt Fayette Amos; special family members, Nathan Harper, Gary Harper, Georgetta McGuire, and James Brown, along with many other family members and dear friends.

Services for Kye will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Pastor Jesse West officiating. Interment will follow with Brian Mitchell, Wilson Mitchell, Nathan Harper, Gary Harper, Corbin Howell, and Rick Muchmore serving as pallbearers. The family will accept friends Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
