Norma Lee Taylor

Norma Lee (Nipper) Taylor took her place in heaven Sept. 14, 2019. She passed peacefully at her home in Bokchito, Okla. Norma was born on Aug. 21, 1936 to Lee Nipper and Gurtha Plunkett Nipper.

She was the youngest of five children. At three months of age, her mother passed away form pneumonia. Upon her mother’s death, she was taken in by her aunt and uncle Luna Plunkett Gray and Joe C. Gray and raised her as their own.

Norma graduated in 1954. After graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked in the insurance business for many years. In 1984, she married Harvey Monroe Taylor and took to the open road as a trucker’s wife until his retirement.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her cherished daughter, Tina Younger and husband Everett of Bokchito, Okla.; beloved grandchildren: Whitney Penland and husband John of Sherman, Texas, Eli Walker and wife Amanda of Durant, Okla., Bailey Walker of Blue, Okla., Adam Younger of Bokchito, Okla., and Taylor Wesley and husband Ben of Durant, Okla.; beloved great-grandchildren: Gunner, Charlie, Avery, Marlie, Jack and Adrian; sisters, Vivian Page of Shawnee, Okla. and Orene Jones of DeQueen, Ark.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Taylor, parents, Lee and Gurtha Nipper and Joe and Luna Gray, along with her siblings and cousins.

She will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. Tuesday September 17, 2019 at the Watson Cemetery in Watson, Okla. with Bro. Todd Webb officiating, and Everett Younger, Eli Walker, John Penland, Adam Younger, Javier Elizalde, and Duaine Kincade as her pallbearers.
