Norma Argo

Norma Ann (Harris) Argo passed away at the age of 86 in Denison, Texas. She was born on Sept. 23, 1933 in Durant, Okla. to parents, Sam and Corrine Harris.

Norma married Elzie Argo on Feb. 3, 1931. They were married for 36 years. Norma was a graduate of Durant High School and worked as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell for more than 30 years. She loved to read a good book until her eyesight failed her. Norma was a member of the Methodist Church in Caddo, Okla. Norma had a loving heart and she shared that with her family, friends, two cats and dog.

Mrs. Argo was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Corrine Harris; husband, Elzie Argo; sisters, Helen Porter and Lillian Nichols; brother, Harold Harris; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elvis (Pete) and Betty Argo.

Mrs. Argo is survived by her nieces, Sheryie Argo Carrick and husband Robert of Durant, Okla., Roxanne Argo Adams and husband Larry of Durant, Okla., and Melba Morris of Dumas, Texas; nephew, Gerald Porter and wife Loryss of Amarillo, Texas; great-nephews, Christopher Adams of Durant, Okla., Drew Adams and wife Danielle of Ada, Okla.; great-nieces, Robyn Sanchez and husband Craig of Altus, Okla., Jamie Berry and husband Brandon of Norman, Okla.; great-great nephews, James Sanchez, Phillip Berry, David Adams; great-great niece, Michelle Sanchez.

Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla. A chapel service in her memory will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 with Larry Adams, Christopher Adams and Drew Adams as officiants. Her final resting place will be the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caddo, Okla. with Robert Carrick, Christopher Adams, Drew Adams, Craig Sanchez, Tony Taylor, and Larry Adams as her pallbearers. The honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Berry.
