DURANT – A train collided with a semi trailer in the early morning hours on Wednesday where the railroad tracks intersect 21st Ave.

Detective Buddy Faulkner of the Durant Police Department said no one at the scene was injured.

“At approximately 4:33 a.m., officers were dispatched to an injury accident involving a train,” Faulkner said.

“Upon arrival, they realized it was a non-injury accident, where a semi, it appeared to the officers, tried to beat the train. This train struck the rear of the semi trailer, partially overturning the trailer.”

The driver of the truck, whose name was not released at the time of this post, was cited with failure to obey official traffic control device.
