DURANT – Southeastern was unable to find an answer for four turnovers as No. 14 Ouachita Baptist scored 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to hand the Savage Storm a 32-16 loss on Saturday night at Paul Laird Field.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 1-2 overall and in Great American Conference play heading into a long Arkansas road trip on Sept. 22 to face Arkansas-Monticello at 1 p.m. in Monticello, Ark.
SE put up 276 yards through the air on the night, but was plagued by four interceptions and was unable to put the ball in the endzone via the pass.
Austin Skinner finished 18-of-43 for 257 of those yards but was also on the hook for all four interceptions, while Rollin Kinsaul was 3-for-3 for 19 yards.
Jaylen Sims hauled in seven of the teams 21 completions and turned in a season-best 124 yards with a long reception of 47 yards.
The Storm had a tough time on the ground and were held to 71 yards total on the night, led by a 58-yard effort from Kenneth Burks who also put up the team’s lone touchdown. He has now scored a touchdown rushing in each of his last seven games.
Overall SE racked up 347 yards of total offense on 81 plays.
The defense did force a pair of turnovers and held OBU to 108 yards passing, but allowed 275 yards on the ground on 44 carries.
Conner Swope paced the Storm defense with 13 tackles on the night, while Zac Scott added eight, including two for a loss and a fumble recovery.
Troy Parker also added a fumble recovery and a return of nine yards along with six tackles, while Keelan Chiltonforced a fumble. Parker and Quincy Dotson each had half a sack, while Cameron Wax added a sack of his own.
Southeastern took an early 7-0 lead when it held OBU to a three-and0out on the game’s first drive and followed with an 11-play, 77-yard drive capped by a one-yard Burks TD run with 8:18 to go in the first quarter.
OBU would get on the board later in the first quarter when Airric Parker picked off an ill-advised Skinner pass in the SE endzone, tying the game at 7-7.
The Tigers jumped up 14-7 in the second quarter on a Brayden Brazeal 18-yard touchdown run with 5:47 to go in the first half.
SE found an answer on the ensuing drive when Joel Carlos capped a 9-play, 69-yard drive with a 23-yard field goal to make the halftime margin 14-10.
Carlos would connect twice in the third quarter, first from 29 yards out and after the Storm defense forced a turnover he would add his second with 46 second to go in the third from 33 yards out.
OBU would regain the lead at the 9:54 mark of the fourth quarter with a Brockton Brown rushing score and a two-point conversion to go up 22-16.
They would hold SE to a three-and-out and drive 60-yards on nine plays for another Brown TD to go up 29-16 before using a Storm turnover to set up a 37 yard Cole Antley field goal with 3:12 to play to fashion the final of 32-16.
