I am you. I know the pain. Is the Depression all consuming? Has the Anxiety completely wrecked your brain? Does it seem that hope has been abandoned and isn’t even in your wheelhouse of emotions. I understand, I live that life. I speak your language.
The good news is, you have made it this far and that means that you DO have hope. You have hope for the future because you are here to tell me you CAN’T do it. The truth is though, you ARE making it day by day, with the hope that the next day will be better.
We all have a choice to be happy, sad, joyful, angry, sorrowful, or hopeful. We don’t get a say in what happens to us, but we do get to choose how we respond to life’s quandaries.
When life wrongs us it is our knee jerk reaction to be upset, to give up or to give in to the pain we hold inside. It takes a strong person to be hopeful through the fear, the tears and the sorrow that life carries. It takes an even stronger person to choose hope through mental illness, but I have faith in you.
Write it on the wall, in a notebook, or change your background to it. TODAY, I CHOOSE HOPE. Choose hope every day. Keep pushing, keep trying, keep living, keep going, keep loving, and keep hoping. Put good out into the world and it will come back to you. I want you to know that you always have the tiny option, even when it feels like we don’t.
“May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.” ~ Nelson Mandela
