Michael Rodgers

Michael “Mike” Rodgers, a resident of Atwood, Okla., left this earthly life on Nov. 8, 2020 at the age of 38.

Mike was born in Durant, Okla. on April 17, 1982 to Raymond Dean Rodgers and Sharon Mae (Hoglan) Matheny. He worked as a diesel mechanic most of his adult life. Mike loved his two daughters, they were the light of his life along with his family, they were his world. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, water sports, RVing and motorcycles with his many friends and family. Mike was loved by all who knew him, he always had a smile on his face and would help anyone so anything they needed done even if he was volunteered by his aunts.

Mr. Rodgers is survived by his two beloved daughters, Destiny Unrein of Monette, Ark. and Nixie Rodgers of Lexington, Okla.; mother, Sharon Matheny and husband Joe of Lexington, Okla.; father, Raymond Dean Rodgers of Denison, Texas; brothers, Jeremy Rodgers of Lexington, Okla., Ray Rodgers and wife Bridgette of Norman, Okla., Chris and Cody Matheny of Lexington, Okla., sister, Kati Matheny of Lexington, Okla., and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jolene and Bill Knipe, Melvin and Minnie Rodgers, and brother, Zachary Rodgers.

A family hour will be at 1-2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla. with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating.

His final resting place will be the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera with pallbearers Dalton Crowe, Nathan Blood, Brad Miller, Darrid Mowles, Bart McCarter, and Donnie McCarter as his pallbearers.
