Michael James Mitchell left this life suddenly on October 13, 2026, at just 18 years of age. He was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma, on August 22, 2008, to mom Jessica Mitchell, and lived there until the family moved to Durant, Oklahoma.
After graduating from Durant High School in May 2026, Michael enrolled in the culinary arts program at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Michael’s other love was his younger sister, Johnnie Mae and of course, his mom. He leaves behind his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael will be so very missed ‘every damn day’.
A gathering of friends and family will take place to Celebrate Michael’s Life on November 8, 2026, from 2-5 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, Oklahoma.
