Meredith Joan (Canard) Calhoun was born on Jan. 29, 1946 in Durant, Okla., to Emmit and Francille (Peppers) Canard. Meredith passed from this life on May 25, 2021 at her home in Ardmore, Okla., at the age of 75. 
Joan graduated from Mead High School and later attended SOSU. She married Joe Calhoun and they have been blessed with many years together. She worked as an accountant but her most important job was being a wife and mother. She was a member of the Carter County Rawhide Cowboy Church and she enjoyed fishing, watching movies, crocheting, gardening and reading her bible. The great joy was her family and she treasured the time she spent with them.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. 
Joan is survived by her husband, Joe Calhoun; daughter, Leslie Dawn Calhoun; sister, Joy Bobo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Wade Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
