Mary Frances Hill, known to many as “Gran-e” entered the Gates of Heaven on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the age of 83. Frances entered this life on July 4, 1940, in Portola, Calif., born to parents, Robert L. and Mary Ola Cathryn (Johns) Hill.
Frances married Keith Hill on December 7, 1970, in Moore, Okla., and they moved to their home in Calera. Frances worked as the city clerk for the town of Calera and retired after 30 years of service. Frances was a dedicated member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Calera since 1987, starting the Church in the living room of her home. Frances deeply loved her Lord and Savior, her family, and friends. She enjoyed playing the piano and reading.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 42-plus years, Keith Hill; parents, Robert and Cathryn Hill and brother, Bob Hill and his wife Sue.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Regina Towne and husband Chuck; son, Gregory Nunn; grandchildren: Tiffany Towne, Aaron Towne and wife Cassie, Jonathan Nunn, David Nunn, Victoria Nunn, and Brooklyn Nunn; great-grandchildren: Drake Sherwood, Ellyette Kholschmidt, and Zola Towne; numerous extended family and beloved friends.
A family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant.
A graveside service is set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery.
