Marvin Metts

Marvin Metts, of Durant, Okla., passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022 at the age of 75. He was born on Monday, Aug. 12, 1946 in Wanette, Okla., to Garvey Edgar and Maude Gertrude (Mobbs) Metts.

He married Brenda Gail (Martin) Metts on June 22, 1968 in Durant, Okla., and was a longtime resident of Durant.

He enjoyed ranching, working as a lineman, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also served in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Maurine Lynn and husband Phillip and brothers-in-law, Mack Smith and James Richardson.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda of the home; son, Jeff Metts and wife Stephanie of Durant, Okla.; granddaughter, Michaela Metts of Midwest City, Okla.; grandson, Jonathan Metts and wife Noel of Durant, Okla.; brothers, George Metts of Durant, Okla., Steve Metts and wife Dee Ann of Bokchito, Okla.; sisters, Maudine Boyd and husband Joe of Balch Springs, Texas, June Smith of Jasper, Texas, Mary Richardson of Durant, Okla., Helen Lange and husband Bill of Sherman, Texas, Joy Metts of Norman, Okla.; brother-in-law, David Martin of Idabel, Okla. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Okla.
