Marvin Earl Massey, 76, of Cartwright, Okla., passed away peacefully with his family near, on Monday, October 3, 2022 at his residence. Marvin was born on November 12, 1945 Cartwright, OK to Albert Marvin Massey & Ida Mae (Dobbins) Massey.
He was a graduate of Colbert High School and also attended college. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was married to Teresa Truog. He was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after being employed for 32 years and 9 months.
Marvin was a very smart and loyal man. His common sense knew no bounds. He knew how to do the job right and did it that way. He was hard headed and always kept his word. Marvin did not abide lying. He had many hobbies, he loved being outdoors, going hunting or fishing and got a thrill out of fast cars. His greatest joy in life was his family. He loved them deeply and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Teresa Massey of Cartwright, Okla.; his son, Marvin Allen Massey and wife Starla of Cartwright, Okla.; his daughter, Marlynda Costa and husband Joe of Denison, Texas; his sister, Clara Nash of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Danielle, Brett, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Jarred; six great-grandchildren, Aiden, Wyatt, Kenzie, Sophie, Maia, Ethan and other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ida Mae Massey; three sisters, Mary Smith, Opal Mayo, Jean McMahan and his first wife, Lynda Stout Massey.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Cedarlawn Cemetery, Sherman, Texas, with Richard Gage officiating.
