Marshall L. Hall (Matt), a retired Postmaster, retired First Sergeant of the United States Army National Guard and beloved family member went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his home on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at the age of 80. He married Ore Lee Jones in Boswell, Oklahoma on May 26, 1961.
Matt believed in serving his country and community. He was a Marine from 1958-1962 and the Army National Guard 1977-1994. Matt was a member of the: Sierra Club, Grand Lodge of Texas, National Rifle Association (NRA), VFW, American Legion, Rose of Sharon Council #49, A Knight Mason, the Boy Scouts of America, Vigil member Order of the Arrow, Grand Lodge of Oklahoma, Deputy Grand Master Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Sons of the Confederacy, and the Roberta Baptist Church.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Ora Lee Hall of the home; children, Robert Hall and wife Susan of Durant, Okla. and Connie Kirby and husband Craig of Poetry, Texas, and Scott Hall and wife Tammie of Mesquite, Texas; cherished grandchildren, Joshua Hall of Durant, Okla., Matthew Hall and wife Sarah of Camp LaJeune, N.C., Jennifer Sampley and husband Chad of Sachse, Texas, Timothy Hall of Durant, Okla., Corry Kirby and wife Jaimee of Garland, Texas, Ryan Hall and wife Ashely of Crandall, Texas, and Kyle Hall of Mesquite, Texas; cherished great-grandchildren, Hayden Hall, Delaney McClure, Emily Hall, Marshall Hall, Isaiah Hall, Korrigan Sample, Ellie Hall, Jaxdyn Hall, Rhyder Hall, Kynlee Hall, Jasmin Kirby, and Leighton Kirby; he is also survived by his siblings, Dennis Hall and wife Gayle and Alecia Devaney.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ester Hall, and sisters, Violet Winfrey and Mildred Schreiber.
Family hour will be from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. A celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2019 at the Roberta Baptist Church.
Matt’s final resting place will be at the Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Okla. with grandsons Chad, Josh, Matt, Tim, Corry, Ryan and Kyle as his pallbearers. In honor of his military service he will receive military honors by the United States Military.
