OKLAHOMA CITY – Colby Marlow and Tanner Piercy, Durant High School seniors, served as pages for Rep. Cody Maynard, R-Durant, at the Oklahoma State Capitol February 19 – 22 during the second session of the 59th Legislature.
Marlow serves as the executive student council president. He plans to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Law and then wants to run for governor.
Piercy is an active participant in the National Honor Society and is a member of the golf team. He is planning to study business and accounting at Baylor University.
“It was great to host Colby and Tanner as pages this week,” Maynard said. “Both students were hard-working and eager to learn while they were here. I believe they will do great things in our community and wish them both well.”
Pages are assigned for one week, Monday through Thursday, during session from the first Monday in February until the last Friday in May. The students work in the House Chamber during daily session, run errands for representatives and staff, and participate in the House Page Mock Legislature on the floor of the House Chamber.
Maynard, a Republican, is in his first term representing House District 21, which includes Bryan and Marshall counties.
