DURANT – Marla Herndon will be connecting enterprising women with economic development opportunities as a newly-named coordinator for REI Women’s Business Center in Durant.
Marla has worked at REI Oklahoma for the past 13 years in a marketing role. In her new position, she will assist entrepreneurs looking to start or grow a business in Southern Oklahoma by providing one-on-one business counseling, access to capital, quality business training opportunities and technical assistance.
“We’re very excited to add Marla to our talented team of professionals who focus on assisting women business owners,” said Sherry Harlin, Senior Vice President of Development.
A graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Marla holds a Master of Educational Technology degree, as well as a BA in Communication. She has been an active community supporter of March of Dimes Events, Colton’s Main Street Run, and other Durant Main Street events. A graduate of Leadership Durant, she and husband Jason reside in Durant.
“I am very excited to join the WBC team to help even more women entrepreneurs as they form a vision for their business or explore opportunities to grow,” Herndon said. “Helping our clients succeed is rewarding in itself and I’m thankful to be a small part of that.”
