Margie Andrews

Margie Andrews, a precious soul joined her Savior Jesus Christ on February 3, 2022, at the age of 87. She was born in Bokchito, Okla. to Lois Dean Whatley on July 7, 1934. Margie married Billie Andrews, Jr. in Bokchito on February 20, 1953.

Margie was a school bus driver and teacher’s aide at the Bennington Schools for 30-plus years. She loved helping the teachers and especially all the children. She enjoyed music and dancing, finding a good thrift store, but most of all, her family was what she cherished most.

Mrs. Andrews is survived by her children: sons Mike Andrews and wife Sally and Jim Andrews and wife Dannette of Bennington, Okla. and daughter, Vicki Andrews and husband Luke Taliaferro of Austin, Texas; sisters, Judy Barbee of Walters, Okla. and Gerry Sue Meadors of Bryan, Texas; 10 grandchildren: Mitch, Matt, Macky, Pam, Cody, Kaci, Kendra, Kara, Dusty, and Cassandra; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Phelps; husband, Billie Andrews; brothers, Harold and Bob Knight; sister, Joyce Thompson and daughter-in-law Wanda Andrews.

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.

A funeral in honor of her life will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at the Bennington First Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Speers and John Teel officiating. Her final resting place will be the Bennington Cemetery with Trey Wood, Skylar Adair, Rusty Foster, Joe Thompson, Jon Shepard, and Scot McCorstin as her pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Hamill, David Ticknor, Tracy Miller, and Donnie Sherefield.
