Margaret Pelkey

Margaret “GraMicki” Juanita Pelkey, 78, of Denison, Texas passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at her home. Margaret was born on a crisp cold day on Dec. 24, 1942 in Urbana, Ill. to Juanita and Glenn Longworth.

Margaret graduated from Butler High School in Butler, Mo., in 1960. After graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for Leviton as a secretary. On Nov. 29, 1974, Margaret married the love of her life Jimmie and stayed married till her death. During a blizzard in 1977, the couple moved back to Missouri, where she continued her career as an Corporate Executive Secretary.

In 1979 the couple moved to Lewisville, Texas. In Lewisville, Margaret worked as a Corporate Secretary at Texas Instruments, J.C. Penney, and Munson Reality, from which she retired.

In 1998, Jimmie and Margaret moved to Denison, TX. She was an active member of Victory Life Church and a secretary there till 2008.

Margaret made her and Jimmie’s home a loving home for 46 years. “GraMicki” as the grandchildren loving called her will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

“GraMicki” is survived by her spouse love of her life, Jimmie Pelkey; daughters, Denise Bradford, Amy Grimes and Sherri Watterson; brothers, Glenn Longworth (Judy) and Mike Longworth (Lisa); grandchildren: Darren McClanahan (Melissa), Joe McClanahan (Meredith), Justin Donnenwerth, Tyler Donnenwerth (Amelia), Jarred Donnenwerth (Kierian), Caleb Donnenwerth (Bekah), Beka Sharp (Will), Hannah Donnenwerth, Wendi Scharpenburg, Cody Lambert and Thomas Watterson III.

“GraMicki” was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Patricia Bradford and Judith Husebo.

GraMicki leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins to cherish her memory as she has went to be home with her heavenly Father. Amen.
