Lynda Lou Boaen

Lynda Lou (Talley) Boaen was born on September 10, 1936, in Mead, Okla., to Marion and Annie Jeanette (Thomas) Talley. Lynda passed away on February 22, 2024, at her home in Calera, Okla., at the age of 87.

Lynda has been a lifelong resident of Bryan County and was married to Gearld W. Boaen until his passing. Lynda worked as a personal banker for First National Bank in Durant for 42 years until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Calera, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and Business & Professional Women organization. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, planting flowers, and fruit trees. She loved cooking, eating Mexican food and spending time with family and friends.

Lynda is preceded in death by her husband, Gearld W. Boaen; parents, Marion and Annie Talley; daughter, Debbie DeSandre and siblings: Irene, Lorene, Pauline, Geraline, Emmitt, Alton, Clovis, and Anna Sue.

Lynda is survived by her daughter, Jannista Wood and husband Lee of Durant, Okla.; companion, Joe Wakefield of Calera, Okla.; grandchildren: Jannaca Hardison and husband Adam of Calera, Okla., Terami Beth Parks and husband Jason of Plano, Texas, and Michael John DeSandre III and wife Brandi of The Colony, Texas; great grandchildren: Brooklynn Hardison, Caleb Dawson Marshall, Aiden DeSandre, Mason DeSandre, Mark Parks, and Hannah Parks; great-great-grandchild, Declan Parks; sister, Yvonna Marlene Luter and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A celebration of Lynda’s life will be held at 2 p.m on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Highland Cemetery Pavilion. Pastor Roger Speers will officiate.
