Lions’ football season opens at home against Poteau

It’s now just 45 days until the opening of the high school football season for the Durant Lions. DHS fans will have five opportunities to watch the Lions play at Paul Laird Field in the 2019 regular season.

The schedule sees the Lions start the year at home with what has a become a perennial non-district opponent in Poteau on Sept. 6.

There will be two Thursday night games this season – Sept. 19 at Broken Bow and Oct. 17 at Ada. And two road games with a travel time of close to an hour from Durant – Sept. 13 at Broken Bow and Oct. 17 at Ada.

Durant closes the season at home in a Senior Night matchup with Nathan Hale on Nov. 8.
