DURANT – The Donald W. Reynolds Community Center and Library is again giving the community an opportunity to take home some books at great prices.

It is autumn and the time for the library’s annual book sale is here. Starting Thursday, Oct. 2 and running through Saturday, Oct. 4, the book sale will be open to the public at the library, which is located at 1515 W. Main St. in Durant.

Robbee Tonubbee, library director, said this is a chance for people in the area to not only take home books and more, but also to help out the library.

“The Friends of the Library do an annual book sale, in which we take books that have been donated from the community or books that have been weeded from the library,” Tonubbee said.  “This gives an opportunity for the community to come and buy tons of books – hardback and paperback – even cookbooks, any sort of thing you want and it really helps support programming and databases here at the library.”

Books are for sale, as well as DVDs, games, puzzles and more. All proceeds benefit library programming.

The library hours during the sale are:
• Thursday, Oct. 2 – 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 3 – 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Saturday, Oct. 4 – 9 .m.-3 p.m.
