Lawana Briedwell

Lawana Jeanette DeSignori Carroll Briedwell was scooped up into the arms of our Lord and Savior Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at the age of 75 at home with her loving family at her side. Lawana was born Aug. 1, 1945 to Quanah and Lee DeSignori in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Lawana graduated from Grandfield high school Grandfield Okla., where she grew up with her loving foster family. Lawana was known in school as the kindest person ever. Her senior year, she was voted Band Queen and won Miss Congeniality in the Miss Grandfield pageant. Lawana eventually moved to Durant, where she met and married her beloved husband Ronald Briedwell in 1972.

Lawana was a caregiver, working as a CNA, ambulance attendant, private caregiver for others, family and friends. In 1985, Lawana decided to follow her dream and become a nurse. In just one short year, Lawana graduated as a LPN second in her class.

Lawana was the best mom, wife, daughter, sister, nana and friend known by all. She loved her family deeply and spoiled her grandchildren. She was an inspiration, kind, loving, caring, and compassionate. She will be missed by her family and all that knew her.

Lawana leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Ronald Briedwell; daughters: Misty Dickey and husband David, Christi Giles and fiancé Alan Watkins; sons: Ronnie Briedwell and Stoney Briedwell; grands: Tamara, Brooke, Nathan, Dusty, Koy, Ethan, Kelly, Morganne, Koby, Selah, Koliah, Denise and Mia; 14 great-grands; brothers: Johnny Beshirs of Mead and Geary Beshirs and wife Carolyn, of Durant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lawana is proceeded in death by both sets of parents; brothers, Larry Designori and Ronny DeSignori, and nephew Tracy Beshirs.
