Larry Frank Fuxa of Mead, Okla., passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born in Noble County, Okla., to Glen Frank and Eunice Isabelle (Anderson) Fuxa. In 1960, he married Phyllis Gerken of Sumner, Okla., mother of all three of his children.

Larry had many jobs in his lifetime. He worked as a railroad fireman for Rock Island Railroad, as a milkman with Meadow Gold Dairy, and as a postman for the United States Postal Service, but Larry was an entrepreneur with an eye for business. He was the owner of Larry’s Accounting Service in Shawnee, Okla., and Designer Pipe Furniture in Kingston, Okla.

During his downtime, Larry enjoyed raising tropical fish and loved spending time with his dogs. He also enjoyed a bit of gardening. Larry was known to see value in many things, and he became a collector of numerous treasures.

Those surviving Larry are his daughter, Teresa Leigh Fuxa of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his son, Robert William Fuxa also of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sister, Judy Branson of Bethel, Oklahoma, and his brother Jim Fuxa and Debbie George of Texas. Larry is also survived by his dear friend and neighbor Robert “Bobby” Brown.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Glen Frank and Eunice Isabelle Fuxa; his son, Frank Alan Fuxa; his brother, John Fuxa; sister-in-law, Carol Fuxa; and brother-in-law, Gene Branson, husband of sister Judy Branson.

Cremation services have been selected, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
