Larry was born Saturday, October 17, 1964 in Denison, Texas to Alvin Sheffield Sr. and Charlotte Sue Cross and passed from this life on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Durant, Okla. at the age of 56.
Larry’s life was full of adventures, ups, downs and all arounds. His love were his family, bowling, and riding motocross. He was a jokester and was always stirring the pot. Larry also loved to tell stories of the good ol’ days.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Sue Cross and grandma, Virginia (Rose) Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Shanon Ward, of the home; father, Alvin Sheffield Sr. of Frederick, Okla.; uncle, Paul Cross of Durant, Okla.; sons, Michael Cross and wife, Brittany, of Rowlett, Texas, Steven Cross of Pittsburg, Texas, and Cory Cross and wife, Kim, of Ardmore, Okla.; daughters, Kaitlyn Cross of Addison, Texas, and Angela Ward and husband, John Prince, of Sherman, Texas; brother, Alvin Sheffield Jr. of Holdenville, Okla.; sisters, Julie Sheffield of Louisiana, April Sheffield and husband, Bo Bishop, of Durant, Okla., and Lila Ford and husband, Tobie, of McAlester, Okla.; grandkids, Carter Cross, Kenzie Cross, Braxton Harwell, Laynee Cross, Hunter Cross, Troy Ward and L. J. Prince.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Durant, with burial to follow at Old Philadelphia Cemetery.
Michael Cross, Steven Cross, Cory Cross, John Prince, Tobie Ford and Alvin Sheffield Jr. will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerrel “Spook” Morris and Seth Bannowsky.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant.
