Lady Rebels stay steady and come back to beat Dale in state quarterfinal

OKLAHOMA CITY – Long-time rival Dale put three runs on the board in the top of the first inning against Silo in Thursday’s Class 2A fast-pitch state quarterfinal. But that would prove to be all the offense the Lady Pirates would produce.

Silo held steady and scored in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings, ultimately overtaking Dale and advancing in the state playoff with an 8-3 win.

Christina Clark shook off a rough first inning in the circle. Dale picked up its three runs on two hits, a hit batter and an error in the first. Clark would hold the Lady Pirates to just four hits and no runs for the rest of the day. She struck out seven and walked two in 7.0 innings.

Five players for Silo (32-7) had multiple hits, led by Avery Beauchamp, who went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Charley Hampton went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and scored a run herself. Shay Linn Midgley had a pair of RBI for the Lady Rebels, as well.

Silo moves on to the semifinals on Friday and awaits the winner of Amber-Pocasset and Pocola.
