Kenneth Dale Knight

Kenneth Dale Knight was the fifth son (no girls) born in Tishomingo, Okla. to Kenneth Leon and Margaret Rosemary Ann Knight on April 29, 1960. His older brothers where Barry, Louis, Michael and Steven. His mother was a War Bride that came to America in 1946 from London, England, his father was a WWII U.S. Army veteran who served in the ETO (European Theater of Operations) and Korea.

The early years the family resided in Tishomingo and in the spring of 1965, they moved to the Sand Point area on Lake Texoma. The family went to Mead Public Schools until its consolidation with Cobb and moved to Silo in 1969 and he graduated in 1978.

Kenny (as he was known) joined the US Navy on January 29, 1979, upon graduation from basic and AIT (assigned individual training) school where he was assigned to Attack Squadron 82 on the USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) servicing A7 Corsairs H’s. Kenny earned several commendations while he was in the service, and he also spent some time in the BRIG a true Knight! Kenny enjoyed his time in the Navy, he saw many ports, places of call, made life long friendships with many memories. He earned an honorable discharge on December 28, 1984 and came back to Oklahoma.

Around 1990, Kenny moved to NWA (North West Arkansas) and went to work in the building trades knowing nothing about it. He worked hard saved his money and eventually started his own successful construction business doing house and light commercial construction for many years.

Kenny had several passions. He loved owning and riding motorcycles (Harley Davidson) and could be found riding around taking them on several rides. He was always grilling, BBQ ing and was a good all around cook. He enjoyed having friends around with food and fellowship. Kenny enjoyed advising, helping and just being around people who needed a helping hand and could frequently be known to help in many ways. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ and would always take the time to let you know about him with his testimony.

He is survived by a son, Brandon Knight of Collinsville, Okla. and daughter, Rayleigh Knight of Fayetteville, Ark.; brothers, Michael and wife Cathy Knight of Seligman Mo., Louis and wife Julie Knight of Rogers, Ark., Barry Knight of Lowell, Ark.; sister-in-law, Diane Knight of Noble, Okla., and many many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in the Lord’s crossing by his father, Kenneth Leon Knight; mother, Margaret Rosemary Ann Lancaster Knight; oldest brother, Steven Thomas Knight and many aunts and uncles.

Honorary Pall Bearers will be Tim Ungerink and Roger Wilson of NWA. Phillip Eggenberg, Terry Pierce, Dewayne Williams and Perry Jones of Durant, Okla. Since he was so widely known, loved and respected, it was felt necessary to hold two services to accommodate and to ease up on travel.

The first service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022 at Church in the Grove, Chapel of the Ozarks, located at 935 Passion Play Road in  Eureka Springs, Ark., with brother Randall Christy officiating. The second service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Victory Life Church, located at 3412 W University Blvd. in Durant, Okla., with brother Tim MacEntire officiating.

The family hopes this makes it easier, but at your own discretion it will not be necessary for all concerned to attend both. At a later date his remains will be interned to Hainline Cemetery in McBride, Okla., next to his Mother and Dad. Please no flowers or donations. If you feel the need, the local help shelter would appreciate a donation in his name and he would enjoy that.
