Ronald Keith Flynn, a resident of Kingston, Okla., joined his beloved Lord and Savior in Durant, Okla., on Friday, February 17, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born on April 24, 1939, in Schuyler County, Mo., to Norman Guy and Berniece Marie (Ayers) Flynn. Keith as everyone lovingly knew him by climbed on a tractor at the age of 9 to help provide for his family. Keith married Violet Williams, who was the love of his life on November 16, 1951, who preceded him in death on November 27, 2017.
Keith farmed in the early years of his life as well as working in the coal mine in Missouri. Then he went to work for IA Steel and Wire and later moved to Oklahoma and went to work for OK Steel and Wire in Madill, Okla., where he worked for 26 years.
Keith loved spending his time rebuilding tractors and cars, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandkids. When he would sit back and look at all of his family, he would fondly say “we created this mess!”. Keith will be greatly missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Flynn is survived by his daughters, Sharon Boswell and husband Daniel of Kingston, Okla., and Sandy Montes and husband Troy of Kingston, Okla.; granddaughter, Candy Wingfield and husband Steve of Bokchito, Okla.; grandsons: Shawn Summit and wife Marissa of Durant, Okla., Ryan Summit and wife Carrie of Calera, Okla., Jamie Summit and wife Miranda of Durant, Okla., Chris Boswell, and Daniel “Lucky” Boswell and wife Chelsea, Shawna Blackwell and husband Trey of Mead, Okla., Autumn Donathan and husband Jeremiah, TJ Montes and wife Jennifer of Whitesboro, Texas, Trisha Montes and fiancé Phillip Allen of Armstrong, Okla.; numerous great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way; sisters: Shirley Morrow of Graysville, Mo., Nancy Buford and husband Danny of Downing, Mo., Donna Yoakum and husband LeRoy of Kirksville, Mo., Carolyn Rude of Kirksville, Mo., and Marilyn Kinney of Green Castle, Mo.
Mr. Flynn was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Berniece; baby daughter at birth; son, Ronnie Lee Flynn; twin brother and sister who died at birth; brothers, Jack Flynn and Dean Flynn and sisters, Imogene Williams and Lois Gillespie.
Family hour will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
Funeral service will be held at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, with Bro. Mike Hobbs officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Kingston Cemetery, in Kingston, Okla. Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Summit, Ryan Summit, Jamie Summit, Dakota Summit, TJ Montes, and Steve Wingfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Montes, Daniel Boswell, Mike Davenport, Ethan Summit, and Jaden Montes.
