Kay McCorstin

Kay McCorstin Hasselman, 73, of Kingston, Okla. passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born September 6, 1945 in Aberdeen, Washington to the late Fred McCuan and Eliza Ray McCuan.

Kay was raised in Kingston where she graduated high school in 1963. She was a proud member of the Kingston Alumni Association. Kay later graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Sociology and began working for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in 1970 as a social worker. She was promoted to the position of County Director of the Marshall County DHS in 1985 and remained in this capacity until her retirement.

Kay married Robert Ross McCorstin on Feb. 5, 1966 in Kingston, and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2016. She later married Don Hasselman on Sept. 16, 2017. Kay was a lifelong member of the Kingston Church of Christ, and she has attended the Madill Church of Christ since 2016. Kay always enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s activities and helping with and attending church activities.

Kay’s optimism and gentle, loving spirit were known to all, and she lived a life of giving to others. Kay dedicated her life to Christ and helping others, and she is best known for her smile and servant spirit.

She is survived by children: Scot McCorstin, Kingston, Okla., Susan Morrison and husband Nate, Durant, Okla.; husband, Don Hasselman, Kingston, Okla and his daughters: Anne Darville, Odessa, Texas, Amy Wilson, Austin, Texas; grandchildren: Kaitlin McCorstin, Jacob Morrison, Hannah Morrison, and Noah Morrison.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla. from 12-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ, Madill, Okla. Todd McRay and Chris Webb will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Okla.  Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
