Judy Parks

Judy Louise Parks passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2023, in Durant, Okla., at the age of 78. She was born on August 27, 1945, in Galena, Kan., to Tom and Allyne (Ford) Cheek. In 1961, Judy married the love of her life Johnny Zabonik in Dallas, Texas. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and devotion to family.

Judy dedicated her life to nurturing her family as a homemaker, a role she embraced with grace and joy. Her unwavering support and guidance were the foundation upon which her family thrived. Judy’s interests in painting and gardening brought beauty to the world and joy to those around her. She was a cherished member of the Victory Life Church in Durant, where she found great solace and community. Her most treasured accomplishment was giving her life to Jesus Christ, a decision that illuminated her path and inspired all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Allyne Cheek, her husband Johnny Zabonik, and two brothers Bryce Martin and Johnny Polson.

She is survived by her loving sons, Monty Zabonik of Denver, Colorado, Jeff Zabonik and his wife Kimberly of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, and Curtis Zabonik and his wife Kasey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her devoted daughter, Lisa Jordan of Durant, Oklahoma; her adored grandchildren, Jenny Knisley and husband Tim, Johnny Zabonik and wife Kate, Marshall Zabonik and fiancé Melissa Burroughs, Karmyn Zabonik, Katlyn Zabonik, Joshua Naeger and wife Chelsea, Alec Naeger and wife Alyssa, and Dylan Farris and wife Lynia; and her eight great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Judy also leaves behind her brothers, Tim Cheek of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Tom Cheek of Dallas, Texas, who will miss her deeply.

Judy will be laid to rest in Waxahachie City Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023.
