Judith Ann Starbuck

Judith (Judy) Ann Starbuck, a resident of Durant, Okla., passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Denison, Texas at the age of 78. She was born Judith Ann Miller on Dec. 13, 1940 to William and Virginia (Miles) Miller in Kansas City, Kan. Judith married Dennis Starbuck on June 2, 1984.

Judy went through the Kansas City School system and graduated with the class of 1958. She continued her education at Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kan. and graduated with her Master of Science in Education with the class of 1964. She was at her best when teaching a classroom of students. Judy taught classes in high school and college, she retired from Downey Unified School District in Downey, Calif. as the Principle of Adult School with a student base of more than 15,000 students.

Judy and Dennis retired and moved to Durant, Okla. in 1996. She enjoyed R.V. camping, playing bridge with her friends, and the pleasure of spending time with family. She served as a volunteer at the Durant Hospital. Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Durant. As a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be missed by all her friends and family.

Mrs. Starbuck is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis of the home; daughter, Alicia Willemstyn and her children, Hailee, Wyatt, and Aubree; step-son, D. J. Starbuck; her step-daughter, Laura Thompson and her children, Logan and Leandra; brother, Bill Miller and wife Charolette and their children Danielle Weilberg and husband Tim and Jeff Miller and his wife Cindy.

A memorial service in her honor will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at the First United Methodist Church in Durant with Rev. John Breon officiating.

The family respectfully suggest that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the First United Methodist Church in Durant.
