Joyce A. (Marchant) Marks passed away on December 19, 2021, in Denison, Texas at the age of 73. Joyce was born on January 11, 1948, in Muskogee, Okla. to Jess Orlan and Frances Duane (Kerr) Marchant.
Joyce graduated from Muskogee Central High School and later married Bennie Bob Marks on January 13, 1968. Together they raised two sons, Kevin and Brock. Joyce was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Muskogee and later First Baptist Church in Cartwright when she and Bennie moved from Fort Gibson in 2015.
She enjoyed fishing, fly fishing, raising chickens, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, and her family was her treasure.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents.
Loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years Bennie B. Marks of the home; sons, Kevin P. Marks and wife Lashona of Coweta, Okla. and Brock O. Marks and wife Kim of The Colony, Texas; granddaughters, Rebekah Day and husband Derrek of Coweta, Okla. and Aubree Day and husband Daren of Coweta, Okla.; brothers, Gerald Marchant and wife Ann of Denton, Texas, Caroll Marchant and wife Sue of McAlester, Okla. and Curtis Marchant of Seattle, Wash. and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Cartwright, Okla. Pastor Troy Phillips will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
