Joleta Ann Saye

Joleta Ann Saye of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the age of 78. She was born on Saturday, February 7, 1948 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Margaret Ruth (Forsythe) and Franklin Aquilla Conaway.

Joleta grew up in the Church of Nazarene and graduated from Star Spencer High School in Oklahoma City. She married Jimmy Saye on May 19, 1984 in Del City, Oklahoma.

She spent most of her adulthood in Oklahoma City and Heber, Arizona, then moved to Lake Texoma for her retirement years. She worked as a florist, a nail tech, and a real estate agent for Prudential before moving to Heber, Arizona where she and Jim operated a restaurant called Heavenly Barbecue. Upon returning to Oklahoma, she worked as a Revenue Compliance Officer for the Oklahoma Tax Commission until retirement.

Joleta enjoyed remodeling and flipping houses with her husband, Jim. She had a talent for interior decorating and was never afraid of a new challenge. She loved to travel, especially to Arizona, spending time with her family, and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Ruth Conaway and Franklin Aquilla Conaway; and sister, Carlene Hamilton.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jim Saye of Kingston, Oklahoma; daughter, Angela Garretson of Norman, Oklahoma; sons, Sean Norwood of Kingston, Oklahoma, Kyle Norwood and wife, Lori Norwood of Kingston, Oklahoma; stepdaughters, Brooke Evans and husband, Roy Evans of Georgetown, Texas, Elizabeth Buffy Hedrick of Tuttle, Oklahoma; stepson, James Saye and wife, Marci Saye of Tuttle Oklahoma; grandchildren, Blayne & Michael Horn of Branson, Missouri, Bryce Garretson of Branson, Missouri, Breanna Garretson of Norman, Oklahoma, Cory Norwood of Kingston, Oklahoma, Aiden Norwood of Kingston, Oklahoma, Nathaniel Norwood of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Steven McBride of Lakeside, California, Roy Benton Evans of Temple, Texas, Daniel Holman of Leander, Texas, Kaycee Wilks and husband, Cole Wilks of Bertram, Texas, Zachary Wendt of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Bailee Hawkins and husband, Sterling Hawkins of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Brandt Saye and wife, Julia Saye of Tuttle, Oklahoma; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family and friends.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2006 at the home of Kyle and Lori Norwood, located at 14202 Peachtree Ln. Kingston, Oklahoma.
