Johnny Stafford, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered his eternal rest on February 4, 2022, at the age of 71. He was born in Bokchito, Okla., on July 25, 1950, to John Z. Stafford and Mamie (Carson) Stafford. Johnny married Charlotte Marler in Oklahoma City, Okla., on June 7, 1977.
Johnny was a hard worker making his living in the oil fields. He had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and chainsaws. Johnny loved being at home with his family, there is where he was truly the happiest.
Mr. Stafford is survived by his wife, Charlotte Stafford of Blanchard, Okla.; children, Chelle Corbin and fiancé Patrick Morgan of Durant, Okla., Anthony Moomey and wife Tracie of Blanchard, Okla., and Rickey Moomey and wife Tammy of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Anthony Dewayne Jr. and wife Jessica, Meghan Moomey, Ethan Lawrence and wife Casey, Ashley Bussey and wife Kiela, Amanda Johnson and husband Sheriff Tommie Johnson, Kiefer Corbin and wife Destiny, and Tristen Corbin and fiancé Brittany; great-grandchildren, Sylvia Moomey, Tommie Johnson IV, Kyson Lee Johnson, Nash Johnson, Emilee, Kason, Paisley Bussey, and Kannon Corbin and siblings, Betty Taylor, and Floyd Stafford.
Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mamie Stafford and siblings, Lola, Lois, Bunk, Hazel, Beaky, Francis, Jeniva, and Doris.
Family hour will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel in Durant, Okla.
A funeral service in his honor will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with Sammy Vaughn officiating. His final resting place will be the Knobbs Cemetery in Kingston, Okla. with Tristen Corbin, Kiefer Corbin, Durwood Williams, Ashley Bussey, Anthony Jr. Moomey, and Ethan Lawrence as the pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Head, Bill Proctor, John McAdams, Eric Carey, Jimmy Gray, and Tommy Stafford.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home, 121 N. Fifth Ave. in Durant.
