Johnny Puckett, a resident of Durant, Okla., left this earthly life on Sept. 25, 2021, at the age of 77. He was born in Petersburg, Va. on March 17, 1944, to Cluster Puckett and Laura (Bates) Puckett. Johnny married his sweetheart Diane Riley in Durant, Okla., on Dec. 14, 1963.
Johnny retired after many years as a truck driver. His hobbies included hauling scrap metal, mowing yards, and hanging out with Gary at Napa. He enjoyed a good meal and good conversation with friends and family at Wright’s Drive-In.
Mr. Puckett is survived by his cherished Mary Diane of the home; daughter, Pamela Harp of Calera, Okla.; son, Johnny Dale Puckett of Bethany, Okla.; grandchildren: Chris Harp and wife April of Coleman, Okla., Austin Harp and wife Sarah of Durant, Okla., Justin Harp of Calera, Okla., Brittany Puckett of Bethany, Okla., Courtney Puckett of Edmond, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Zoey Harp of Calera, Okla., Averi and Charli Harp of Coleman, Okla., Izac Puckett of Bethany, Okla.; special friends: Boyd McGuire, Dana Haggard, Gary Hamel, Joey Bailey, Charlie Smith, Louis Rose, and Wayne Robinson, Johnny is also survived by his brother-in-law, Roy Riley and wife Joanne of Durant, Okla., and sister-in-law, Louise Riley of Durant, Okla.
Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his parents, Cluster and Laura Puckett.
Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
A graveside service in honor of his memory will be at 10 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Durant with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. His pallbearers will be Chris Harp, Austin Harp, Justin Harp, Joey Bailey, Wayne Robinson, and Randal Riley.
Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla.
