John Warren Ashby, 68, passed away on October 19, 2023. He was born on March 3, 1955, to Orval and Joella Ashby at Travis Air Force Base, Calif.
John had the Air Force in his blood from birth, he proudly served in The United States Airforce and retired after 20 years of service. He enjoyed songwriting and performing at That Country Music Place. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Orval Ashby and Joella (Dobbins) Ashby; sister, Judy Onstott and brother James Ashby.
Left to cherish his memory are his significant other, Linda Walker of the home; daughters, Sarah Wolfer and her husband of Fairport NY. and Valerie Ashby of Rochester, N.Y.; brother, Jim Ashby and wife Leeann of Yarnaby, Okla.; nieces, Joella Milchak and husband Rob and Caitlin Ellison and husband Clinton; nephews, Ben Onstott and wife Heather, Alex Onstott, Sarah Billings of Mead, Okla. and Greg Mitchell of Durant, Okla. John also leaves behind five grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant.
Services are under the direction of Browns’s Funeral Service.
