John Kenneth Regen

John Kenneth Regen age 85 of Durant, Okla., and formerly of Milwaukee, Wisc. passed away on May 11, 2022, in Durant. John was born on May 13, 1936, in Milwaukee to Kenneth Paul and Florence Marie (Kholer) Regen.

John graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and then began his career in the United States Air Force. He proudly served during the Vietnam Conflict and retired after 23 years of service. He received Air Force Commendation Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Air Force Good Conduct Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Good Conduct Medal (2 Bronze Knots), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (2 Bronze Campaign Stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.

He married Carol Ann Rogers on April 22, 1979, after the death of his first wife, Kaoru “Kay” (Yamane) Regen. They moved to Marshall County in 1979 and later to Durant in 2017. John was a faithful member of Victory Life Church and was a member of the Men’s Group and the United Way. He enjoyed fishing, music, and his beloved Green Bay Packers.

John is preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Regen and daughter, Lisa Marie (Regen) Wright.

John is survived by his wife, Carol Regen of the home; sisters, Claudine Figueroa and husband Luis of Milwaukee, Wisc. and Lois Regen of Seattle, Wash.; sons, Michael Regen of Tyler, Texas and Thomas Regen and wife Kimberly of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepchildren, Charlotte Stephens and husband Eddie of Durant, Okla. and Daniel Lewis and wife Sheri of Hickory Creek, Texas; son in law, John Wright of Yorktown, Va.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of John’s life has held on Sunday, May 15, 2022.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
