Joeann Griffitt, of Calera, Okla., passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the age of 84. She was born on Wednesday, November 9, 1938 in Corning, Ark., to Joseph Ennis and Juanita Mae (Pence) Rawlings. 
She was a longtime resident of the Sherman and Denison area. She married her husband Bob Griffitt on February 14, 1971. They were married for 52 loving years.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, bird watching and she loved to shop.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Griffitt; parents, Joseph Ennis and Juanita Mae (Pence) Rawlings; sons, Bryan Courtaway and Dwayne Griffitt.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Figueroa and husband John of Atlanta, Ga., Camille Edgecomb and husband Kenny of Colorado Springs, Colo., Melissa Griffitt and husband Gary of Denison, Texas, Diane Krebbs and husband Kenny of Pottsboro, Texas; sons, David Griffitt of La., David Courtaway and wife Carol of Edinburg, Texas, Robert Griffitt and wife Lisia of Calera, Okla.; many grand and great grandchildren; as well as other extended family.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Monterey Chapel in Durant, Okla.
