Jimmie Isenberg

Jimmie Thomas Isenberg was born on June 1, 1942, in Coleman, Okla. to the late Hershel Lee and Hellen Estell (Jennings) Isenberg. Jimmie passed away on January 26, 2022, at his home in Bakersfield, Calif. at the age of 79.
Jimmie graduated from Coleman High School and later proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Jimmie was Honorably discharged on October 2, 1969 after receiving two Bronze medals for heroism. He worked in the oil field industry for 57 years and retired as a Production Supervisor. He married Kay Frances Canady on July 13, 1974, and they have been united for 47 years. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, softball, bowling, and panning for gold with his friends and he had a deep love for his family and treasured the time he spent with them.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his father, Hershel Lee Isenberg.

Loved ones left behind to continue his legacy are his wife, Kay Isenberg; mother, Hellen Estell Isenberg; children: James Isenberg, Judy Isenberg Nowlin (and husband Mark), Carolyn Isenberg Ashabranner (and husband George) and step-son Eddie Clark; brothers, Charles, Kenneth (and wife Sherron), Don (and wife Marlene) and Curtis Isenberg; sisters, Sherian Isenberg, Joyce Johnson (and husband Ken), Arlene Dupree, Carla Brown (and husband Mike); grandchildren: Terry Head (and wife Stephanie), Moci Nowlin, Teis Nowlin Perez (and husband Alex), Logan Ashabranner, Joseph Gonzales and Brian Gonzales; great-grandchildren: William Head, Jack Gonzales, Teddy Perez, Kalicy Perez, Destiny Perez, Camry Perez, Kaydence Head, Scarlett Gonzales, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Okla. Toby Isenberg will officiate with Brian Franks assisting. Interment will follow in Ego-Coleman Cemetery with Military Honors. Logan Ashabranner, Brian Gonzales, Joseph Gonzales, Terry Head, Moci Nowlin and Alex Perez will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
