Jimmie Faye Reeves

Jimmie Faye Fisher Reeves was born April 13, 1933, in Platter, Okla., to William Claude and Essie Fisher. She passed away on January 5, 2023, in Denison, Texas.

Jimmie was very proud to say she was from Platter, Okla., and loved recalling the story of the day she was born. “It came a big fresh snow.”

Jimmie married her one love, C.R. Reeves “Sonny” on December 3, 1949, in Denison, Texas. She was a very proud wife and mother. She loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning everything from their large garden and fruit orchard, and camping trips in Wilburton, Okla. She was an active member of Platter Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class!

Jimmie leaves behind sons, Steve Reeves and Barry Reeves and daughter-in-law, Charlotte of Durant, Okla.; granddaughter/daughter, Courtney Reeves Monroe and husband Jeff of Durant, Okla.; granddaughter, Jennifer Cavender and husband Tod of Durant, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Lydia Parson, Will Brister, and Laney Cavender all of Durant, Okla., Carter and Crosby Reeves of Pottsboro, Texas; great-great-grandchildren: Grayson and Chance Brister; sisters: Lawanda (Tootsie) Manry and Jackie Newton and numerous extended family and friends.

Jimmie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, C.R. Reeves; parents, William (Papa Bill) and Essie Fisher; grandson, Benjamin Reeves and sisters, Billie Reeves and Carolyn Britton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Platter Baptist Church. Pastor Donald Ford will officiate. Interment will follow in The Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert with Jeff Monroe, Tod Cavender, Carter Reeves, Ricky Manry, Reedy Reeves and Will Brister serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
