Jerry Don Husband a resident of Durant, OK was born on February 13, 1939 in Duncan, Okla. to Fred and Clovis (Tidwell) Husband. Jerry passed from this life on April 5, 2019 in Sherman, Texas at the age 80.
Jerry grew up in Duncan and graduated from high school in 1957. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corp and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Calif. He married Mary Sue Walker and after his Honorable Discharge they returned to Duncan to make their home and had two children, Donnie and Kristin.
Jerry worked for Wonder Bread before joining the Frito Lay Corporation. This position as regional manager brought about a move to Durant for the Husband family. Jerry married Oneta (Coker) Rains in 1975. This union brought four more girls into Jerry’s life, Angie, Rita, Marla and Kim.
After Jerry’s retirement from Frito Lay he and Oneta moved to Dallas where he started another career selling cars and enjoyed the challenge of a sale. He was top sales associate on many occasions. Because of the drive to make a sale he won a Thunderbird in 1992.
In 2002, Jerry once again retired from the work force. Jerry made a conscious decision more than five years ago to ask Jesus to forgive him of his sins. He started attending Western Meadows Baptist Church and also Fairview Baptist Church. He found Godly mentors and the need for fellowship through Bible studies. He looked forward to those Thursdays and the joy of being with friends. Through this cancer battle, he grew tired and weary of this life of sickness and pain. Jerry sought rest that can only come from the love of God.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Oneta Husband; parents, Fred and Clovis Husband; daughter, Rita Rains and brother, Junior Garrison.
