Jerry Don Gibson was born on September 8, 1945 in Durant, Okla., to Ernest Ray and Tiny Marie (St. Clair) Gibson. Don passed from this life on June 10, 2020 in Durant at the age of 74.

A lifelong resident of Durant, Don graduated from Durant High School and later married Lovell Gilmore on August 13, 1962 and they have been united as one for 57-plus years. He worked as a saw operator at Sundowners Trailers for 17 years until his retirement. Don enjoyed fishing, playing at the Casino and he treasured his time with his family.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Aileen Wallace and brothers, Dale, Johnny, Richard and Tom Gibson.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Lovell of the home; treasured children, Jerry Lynn Gibson and wife LaRhonda, Wayne Gibson and wife Jennifer, Bryan Gibson, Jeff Gibson and wife Jennifer, Timmy Gibson and Patricia Gibson and husband John; brothers, Paul Gibson and wife Mavis, Joney Gibson and wife Valerie and David “Pete” Gibson and wife Karen; sisters, Laverne Neece, Sherry Slater and husband Mike, Brenda Maples and husband Danny and Ruth Ponder; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Brown’s Durant Funeral Service Chapel. Jackie Lewis will officiate.

Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Chris Gibson, John Gibson, Andrew Gibson, Jasper Gibson, Justin Gibson, Joshua Gibson, Jeramie Gibson and John Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Gibson, Paul Davault, Bo St. Clair, Benjamin Gibson and Aaron Newkirk. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.

The family wants to give a special thanks to Jennifer Ford, Tammy Roper and Mays Home Health for excellent care, support and love the have shown to Don and all his family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
