Jasper R. Cross a resident of Utica, Okla. joined his Savior at his home in Utica on Feb. 19, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born in Utica on July 26, 1936 to Luther Ray Cross and Essie Pearl (Perkins) Cross.
Jasper married his beloved Freda Elizabeth Lynn on Oct. 19, 1957 in Snoqualmie, Wash. He proudly served his state in the Oklahoma National Guard 180th Infantry 45th division.
Jasper was an active member of the Utica Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jasper loved working with wood and made it his profession as a carpenter. Jasper looked forward to putting in his garden every year and the produce he was able to grow and share.
Mr. Cross is survived by his cherished wife, Freda of the home; children: Harold Ray Cross and wife Sherrie of Durant, Okla., Cheryl Conditt and husband Rick of Utica, Okla.; siblings: Pearline Reynolds of Greenville, Texas, Vonna Russell of Muskogee, Okla., James Cross and wife Jane of Watkinsville, Ga., Betty Hollingshead of Altus, Okla., Rocky Cross and wife Glenda of Mead, Okla.; grandchildren: Lewis Cross of Durant, Okla., Ashley Norton and husband Jason of Durant, Okla., Blake Conditt and wife Amanda of Calera, Okla., Courtney Shive and husband Landry of Choctaw, Okla. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Cross was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Essie Cross, brothers, Tom Cross and Jim Cross, and sister, Beth Rodgers.
Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Okla. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on February 22, 2020 at the Utica Baptist Church in Utica, Okla., with Bro. John Heath and Bro. Roger McCoy officiating.
His final resting place will be the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Okla., with Blake Conditt, Jason Norton, Landry Shive, Justin Cross, Jayson Cross and Bob Mitchell as his pallbearers. His honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Carr, Steve Dow, Chris Haworth, Bubby Hart, Stanley Presley, Stan Perkins, and Jordan Wyatt.
