Jarrod Lee Washington, 45, of Durant, Okla., passed away on March 10, 2021 at his home. Jarrod was born on Aug. 20, 1975 in Sherman, Texas to Gary Fred and Neitha Jane (Dewberry) Washington.
A lifelong resident of Durant, Jarrod graduated from Durant High School and later married Muranda Marie Bogantes on Sept. 20, 2007 in Norman, Okla. Jarrod worked as a handyman and most recently a tree cutter. Jarrod enjoyed fishing and he deeply loved his family and friends.
Jarrod was preceded in death by his parents, Neitha Hendley and Gary Washington; brother, Scott Hendley; grandparents, Opal and Charles Pruitt, Robert Dewberry, Alma and Fred Washington and John and Cora Hendley and great-grandparents Minnie and Manuel Rowland.
Jarrod is survived by his loving wife, Muranda Washington of the home; treasured children: Jachob, Gabe and Reice Washington; step-father, Johnny Hendley and wife Kay Smithart; mother-in-law, Kari Stiles; brothers: Russell Washington and wife Angela and Eric Hendley and wife Heather; sisters: Kary Trent and husband Dax, Jonelle Hendley and Brittini Washington and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, March 15, 2021 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Anthony Williams will officiate.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo, Okla. with Jerry Mowles, Jason Pruitt, Daniel Burgess, Chad Pate, Chris Hail, Derik Smith, Barry Clark and Chad Whitmire serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
