James “Jim” Stark of Durant, Okla., passed from this life on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the age of 66. He was born on Wednesday, January 9, 1957 in Salina, Kan., to Frank Kenneth and Carolyn Kay (Bergman) Hill.
He married his beloved wife on July 12, 1985 in Durant, Okla. He was a longtime resident of Mead, Okla. He was a member of Victory Life and would play music for his church.
He loved music and played the guitar. He also loved food and enjoyed painting.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank Kenneth and Carolyn Kay (Bergman) Hill; wife of 34 loving years Rita Kay Stark, who had passed on August 13, 2019.
Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Stark and fiancé Brian Hutchinson of Calera, Okla., Rebekah Stark and Cassai Trammell of Mead, Okla.; grandchildren: Dylan Meyer of Muskogee, Okla., Mia Caraveo of Calera, Okla., Matthew Holmes of Mead, Okla., Noah Holmes of Mead, Okla.; brothers, Rylon Hill of Durant, Okla., Kenneth Hill of Waco, Texas, Tony Hill of Denver, Colo., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Gordon Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma with Pastor Rick Smith officiating.
