James Owens, of Bokchito, Okla., passed from this life on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 in Durant, Okla. at the age of 58. He was born on Sunday, Sept. 25, 1961 in Clinton, Okla. to Frank Wendell, Sr. and Liddie Elizabeth (Hider) Owens.
He was a longtime resident of Bokchito, Okla. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, model cars, gardening, auctions, canning, making beef jerky and dogs. Most of all he loved his kids and his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank Owens, Sr.; step-dad, Don Erskin and son, Frank Owens, Jr.
Survivors include sons: Waylon Owens and Ashley Lanell of Bokchito, Okla., Shaun Long and wife Trish of Durant, Okla.; daughters: Casey Henry and husband Devvin of Chickasha, Okla., Crystal Hayes of Cartwright, Okla.; brothers: David Franklin Owens and wife Dorothy of Bokchito, Okla., Edward Waldrop and wife April of Addis, La.; sister, Cindy Brackett and husband Terry of Bennington, Okla.; mother, Liddie Erskin as well as many grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A family visitation will be held on December 15, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. at Gordon Funeral Home.
