James Martin Kendrick, Jr., 78, of Bokchito, Okla., passed away, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Calera Manor Nursing in Calera, Okla. James was born on January 9, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas, to James Martin Kendrick, Sr.and Mary Lois Mitchell Kendrick.
In August 1964, he married Martha Evelyn Johnson in Beaumont. He formerly worked in the water department of the City of Beaumont. He was a high school graduate and also served his country proudly in the United States Marines.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Martha Kendrick of Bokchito, Okla.; children: Shawn Kendrick of Houston, Texas, Donovan Kendrick of Fort Stockton, Texas, Lewis Kendrick of Beaumont, Texas, Ember Nichole Busby and Justin of Bokchito, Okla.; sister, Mary Dooley and Phillip of Mesquite, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Kendrick; brother, Roy Dale Kendrick; son, Doyle Lee Kendrick and grandson, Cody Ray Kendrick.
The family is planning a service with the date to be announced.
