James Edward Hendrickson was born June 17, 1953 in Fayetteville, W.V. and died Oct. 2, 2018 in Durant, Okla. He was the third child of four children born to parents, Donald and Mildred Hendrickson.
James is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda; daughter, Shandrika Lyn Shubin; granddaughter, Lyndsay Rae Taylor-Shubin; grandson, Avery James Shubin; grand son in law, Chris Taylor; great grandson, Braden Cole Taylor; great-granddaughter, Harper Lynn Taylor; brothers, Steven Ray Hendrickson and wife Barbara and Terry Lee and wife Kay; sister Becky Bearencourt and husband Charly and step family member, Preston Chill.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mildred Hendrickson and son, Raymond Allen Hill.
James was proud of his history as a dedicated son, loving spouse, devoted father, doting grand and great grandfather, Vietnam Veteran and friend. Never judgmental, seldom angered, he spent his life caring for those around him. He was a neighborhood good guy for many years. He worked a Rural Water District No. 2 and Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he retired in 2001. He will be lovingly remembered by the lives he touched and hugely missed.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Military Honors will be conducted by the Patriot Guard Riders of Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
