James Gerald Weatherly, 89, of Colbert, Okla., left his earthly home and earned his eternal home on January 6, 2022 at Ardmore Veteran Center, Ardmore, Okla. Gerald was born on December 17, 1932 in Littlefield, TX to Clyde and Brenus Lum Weatherly.
On April 15, 1953 he married Bettie White. Gerald was a graduate of high school and also had an associate degree from college. He formerly worked for the IRS and served his country in the United State Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Colbert, Okla. He will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Bettie Weatherly of Colbert, Okla.; his children, Vickie Varney and husband Sam of Colbert, Okla., Ron Weatherly and Robin of Cartwright, Okla., Shawn Weatherly and Sally of Denison, Texas, Gregory Weatherly of Sherman, Texas; his sister, Pansy Sims of Munster, Texas; his brother, Billy Clyde Weatherly and Mozell of Ft. Worth, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Brenus Weatherly; his son, James Gary Weatherly in 2015; his brother, Charles Weatherly and his sister, Frances Gunter.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Garden of Memory Cemetery Pavilion in Colbert, Okla., with Pastor Randy Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memory.
