James David “JD” Campbell of Bokchito, entered his Heavenly home on Monday, June 10, 2019 in Denison, Texas at the age of 89. He was born on April 8, 1930 in Malvern, Ark. to Leonard Austin Campbell and Ruth (Perry) Campbell.

JD moved to Oklahoma after living in Georgia for a period of time. He married the love of his life Lazona Joan Farrell on Jan. 28, 1950. The couple shared more than 64 years together until her passing on June 12, 2014. JD loved traveling and being on the road. He had a passion for truck driving and became an owner-operator. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bokchito where he served as a deacon.

He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Ruth Campbell; wife, Lazona Joan Campbell; son, James Austin Campbell; and sister, Floy Sullivan.

JD is survived by his children, Cynthia Masters and husband, Larry Masters of Irving, Texas, Vicki Lively and husband, Randy Lively of Sharon, Okla., Ricky Campbell and wife, Joann Campbell of Elbert, Colo., and Jeffery Campbell and wife Pamela Campbell of Bokchito, Okla.; brothers, Perry Campbell of Warner Robbins, Ga., Glenn Campbell of Durant, Okla., Ron Campbell of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Lela Bundrant of Bokchito, Okla., Kathryn Mixer of Guthrie, Okla.; grandchildren: Stefanie Addington and husband Drew, Jennifer Gebert and husband Michael, Melissa Bais and husband Christos, Andrea Riner, Jeremy Nichols and wife Rachel, Michal Muller, Amanda Jones and husband Carey, Charlie Campbell, Ethan Campbell, and 20 great-grandchildren along with other extended family members and dear friends.

Services to honor JD’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church in Bokchito with Bro. Phillip Rowland and Bro. Ryan Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Bokchito Cemetery with Jeremy Nichols, Charlie Campbell, Ethan Campbell, Drew Addington, Christos Bais, Carey Jones, and Michael Gebert. The honorary pallbearer is Michal Muller. The family will accept friends Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
